Needing recs on a new set-up. I fly fish a couple times each year with my dad in Montana (Glacier and Flathead Lake areas) and have always just used the gear he has up there. Yet, the rods and reels were stolen this winter. Had a mix of Orvis and Kingfisher rods, yet nothing newer than 15-20 years. Not sure what the rods were. Mostly 9' and 5/6wt.
Looking at getting my own setup, yet leave it up there for him as well and rebuild the gear options. Budget around $500-$600 (for rod and reel)...which would be an upgrade of what I was using before.
