A few things.

A very small amount of dudes actually want to be there. Your buddies, your wife's friends husbands, etc. We just show up because our wive's nagged the crap out of us and we hope our wives drink enough to have some drunk sex after the party.

Step up and have some legit f'n food. Legit food is not "lil smokies", chips, dip, crackers, cheese, fruit trays, veggies trays, or charcuterie boards. If this is your idea of "food", then don't host the damn party. Not only do we not want to be there to begin with, at least feed us something decent. Grill up some food, BBQ, have a restaurant cater. Something that is a meal for God sakes. If the party sucks overall, decent food can save it. I have to give up a night to attend a party AND eat shitty food? No thanks.

Invite people to bring their own alcohol, but, you still need to have some options and make sure you have plenty of mixers. OJ, cranberry juice, red bull, soda, club soda, etc are a must. Get some safe beer you know someone will drink. The light beers, Shiner, etc. Also not as many people as you think are impressed by some off the wall brewery that only sells their shit to Whole Foods.

If it has to be during a sporting event, for the love of God, have the TV on that game. Don't make me ask the host to turn it on or tell me to "try the tv in the guest room I don't know how to work this one!".

I'm being dragged to my third holiday party tonight. This one with the kids. Joy.

I'll keep yall posted
Cool story bro
