I tore my Achilles almost 2 years ago and in the ensuing surgery (or possibly in the associated nerve block), my nerve was damaged and a significant amount of neuropathy. I've been to quite a few doctors and therapy since then (including another surgery), but it's likely permanent. I can still walk, but it has significantly reduced my quality of life. I was sued myself for a car wreck when I was 20 that had me looking at bankruptcy options for a while. As a result, I swore to myself that I would never sue unless it was very significant. I've put this off for a long time as a result (and hoping I would find a cure). But this is very significant. So a few questions for anyone that might know:
  1. I know Texas isn't friendly for malpractice suits, so is something like this just wasting my time?
  2. Would this cause issues with receiving treatment anywhere in the future? I've never seen a question asking about suing for medical malpractice, but I can't say I've read every disclaimer perfectly.
  3. Who would be a good medical malpractice attorney in the Houston area?
This board is amazing at providing insight on random things like this. I hope to at least get some clarity on this. BTW. I'm always open to additional treatment advice as I would much rather get better than sue (x1000).
