If you want to have gun laws that allow suspected terrorists on a watch list and who can't fly on a plane to be able to walk into a store and buy as many military style assault weapons as he wants, then yes, this is the new normal. POTUS is absolutely correct.

Obama fails yet again with his idea that by taking guns away, that shootings will cease. So he thinks that criminals/terrorists will line up to turn in their guns. Yeah, that's gonna happen.

If he would acknowledge that America and the world is at war with radical Islam, shut our borders, and not allow these people in our country that would be a great policy right now. The guy doesn't get it. Taking guns away is not the answer and won't stop criminals from carrying out shootings like this.

Yes, take away military assault rifles from civilians. That's what I'm saying. Cars have regulations on them. Car owners have to register them and have a license. Safety measures have been added to cars and roads over the years to make them safer (seat belts, air bags, child carseat laws, making banks less steep on roads, lighting on roads, signage, on and on...) And all of those things have decreased fatalities enormously from decades past. False equivalency with the car argument. Apparently there's no limit to the crazy gun culture in this country. It's literally insane.

Cars also serve a purpose other than to kill.

I had a background check on every gun I own. Every gun I have has a safety on it. I already said I don't mind registering them. The car argument you are using is false. I said if a person INTENTIONALLY runs a car into a group to kill. Not accidents. Come on man.
The safety features on cars only work when you are talking about an Accident...not intentionally driving it into a group of people. Some people like to play golf. I think it is stupid. If someone kills someone with a golf club I won't say take all golf clubs away.

It makes no sense to take away guns from millions of people to get the few who actually use them in a crime. And if they take my guns who is paying me for them? You? I am not a "crazy gun nut". I enjoy shooting as a sport. You were not raised around guns and that is obvious. It is like anything else if a person does not understand how someone else might enjoy something they have no understanding. Why can cars go over the speed limits in our country? Should a safety be put in each vehicle to now allow it to go over the speed limit?

Again think about this.......over 100 million people own something "anything"......less than 100 people use "it" for a crime.....you are saying take all of them away instead of try to figure out how to keep the 100 or so from doing evil? I can't understand this line of thinking.

Not saying something shouldn't be done about our borders but this instance had nothing to do with border control. This was another American with views that were terroristic. No American wants to claim this but he was American.

An AR15 is not an assault weapon. It looks like one. An assault weapon is select fire and is capable of full auto. There are over 270 million guns in the US. The Bill of Rights says we can own them. I am trying to make you understand that taking away everyones RIGHTS for the actions of a very few is wrong. Like I said we agree on a lot. Not this. I don't think you are reading everything I am posting. I already said I would register them, background check, hell I would take a polygraph saying I am not crazy and going to kill people with them.

I agree with you there is a limit to Arms that are allowed. You have already seen me post I don't think people should have access to grenades, bombs, rocket launchers or anything like that. An AR looks military but it is not.

Scholz don't get me wrong I don't like that these people are killing innocents. But I will NEVER do anything like this. I would only HELP someone if I could. Why take mine? I think we need to do something to keep them out of the hands of bad people. Background checks for every sale is good....whether from a dealer or person to person. Register them is fine. Take them from people on a NO FLY list is good I would think. In a Free society there is only so much you can do to stop violence or you are not in a Free society any longer.
