My daughter who is a junior at UT posted on Twitter that if Tik Tok was banned she'd kill herself on the capitol steps. Something to that effect. She then immediately tweeted afterwards Oh Well back to reading fanfiction. She meant it all as a joke.
A few minutes ago a HPD officer rang my doorbell wanting to do a mental wellness check on her. I let him in to look around the house. Told him she lived in Austin. We did a facetime with her and the officer to show him she was alright. Then we got to be interviewed by Capitol Police because the wellness call came from DC.
Just a dumb thing to do anytime but with security around the inauguration tomorrow, it was extremely dumb.
Side Note: Having an officer ask you if you know (your kids name) will make your heart stop. Immediately all the terrible stuff that can happen to them ran through my head in the fraction of a second.
