Nothing has changed whatsoever in the real world. One news channel/website in particular sharply ramped up their coverage of these teacher sex scandals beginning in the second half of 2017, and now many of its regular viewers are convinced this is some kind of surging national epidemic.
Yes, this has been going on for a long time and it has always been the female teachers that have been the greatest offenders. Prolly 95 to 1.

when I was in 6th grade...we had a HOT young (20's is all I know) substitute teacher filling in for a pregnant art teacher.

I just smiled at her and said I was good.....she gave me a flirty smile and walked off.
Only a few of my friends knew back then, and no one believed me (that I actually kissed her).

Sure, they may be hot. But we have to consider the Hot-Crazy Scale. And when your brain tells you that its ok to bone an 8th grader......then your level of crazy spikes so hard it punches through the fabric of space-time. That is weapons-grade creepy.
Seriously. Instant social media has made everyone think everything is an epidemic. Shootings, teachers with students etc... Theres 320 million people in this country and only 365 days in a year. Shit happens every single day and it always has. We just hear about it now every damn time.
