Anyone have an experience with this place? Any recommendations on how to secure a spot there? If you have knowledge on the subject, are there any other facilities you would recommend?
My wife, 41 years old and mother to an 18 year old and a 6 year old, is currently in the Memorial Herman Neuroscience ICU. She’s been there since Thursday Feb 27. We were set to go to the Cook Off that night. My wife went to the gas station to pick up some to-go wine for our Uber, but she never made it home. According to witnesses she was slumped over the wheel as she went through an intersection before crashing in a greenery area. When police and EMS arrived and got her out of the car, they thought she was fine. Despite a horrific crash, the only sign of injury was from the seat belt. They were set to take her to Memorial Herman in Katy, just as a precaution. Before they left, my wife complained about her head and was nauseous. EMS made the call to come to the Med Center, just in case this head injury was severe. They saved her life. Shortly after being admitted to the ER, seizures began and after a CT scan, she was diagnosed with a ruptured aneurysm and a severe blood bleed. The surgeon bluntly told me, she likely wouldn’t make it.
I was gutted to say the least.
Fast forward to today…she’s had multiple procedures. She’s trending in the right direction. I say that delicately because things change rapidly. If you are the praying type, I’ll gladly take them.
But as mentioned in the beginning of this post, if anyone on this board has knowledge on the subject and doesn’t mind sharing, my family would greatly appreciate it. I just want the best for her and if it’s TIRR and I have to sell a kidney to get her there, so be it.
