I'll be visiting Waco for a long weekend and I'm looking for the best places to eat and some cool bars to hang out at. Where's the best breakfast? Mexican food? Other must eat places? Bar's with great beer selections?

PS- Last time I asked for suggestions for New Braunfels we ate at some amazing places. Appreciate you guys who helped!

Buzzard Billy's has Cajun food, and Manny's is Tex Mex. Both on the Brazos with outdoor decks. For beer/bball watching - George's (but it does not have a large selection - just order the Big O). And if you are taking a lady friend - shop at the Magnolia downtown. This is the store owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines/HGTV's the "Fixer Upper." Personally, it all looks like junk, but the ladies love it.

And if you have some time - Dallas is only 90 miles north.

For God's sake, blow through weirdoville and go straight to Ft. Worth--THAT's a city!

And the Dr. Pepper Museum (with free Dr. Pepper Ice Cream Floats)!! And the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame!! And the Twin Peaks, site of the motorcycle gang shootout! And just a 10 minute drive to the Branch Davidian campground! Waco is a hidden treasure, I tell you!

Haha I live in the DFW, I'll be there for the birth of my nephew. No way around it.

Don't take any females with you that you can't protect from the predators on bailors sports teams.

Dang guys, thanks for nothing. I knew Waco was bad, been through many times. By brother graduated there. But didn't realize it was that boring. I may just drive in for the day now. Definitely make a stop at George's before I leave though.

North Waco has No mans land, where their is gambling drinking and women and boozing, take a taxi and ya gun!

.Hook'em

On my visits,I did enjoy the Texas sports hall of fame,Its a walk down memory lane of all the teams of the SWC and has a Texas longhorn section,Tom landry tribute and high school section that displays great games and players if I remember .It is right next to the Baylor campus and if you enjoy football don't miss it.I always stayed next to the Baylor campus and I never could find a good place to eat But Im sure locals could name a few. go to tshof.org for more info

I suggest u find yourself a Circle K or 7-11 . . . locate the refrigerated burritos and pop 1 in the microwave. While it's heating up, pour yourself a 72 oz Big Gulp . . . then have yourself a little feast right there n the store. 4 dessert, may I suggest some Pepto tabs?

It won't get much better than that in Wacko.

Good sport.

The Waco Cameron Park zoo is actually a pretty good day if you have young children.

But bring pepper spray. Never know if you'll find art briles hiding in the bushes.

If you want a great burger go to Kitok's. You can order a double liplocker with cheese and you must get an order of oriental fries.

I dont know if the Balcones Distillery gives tours, but if they do...book it!.. They have won world awards for single malt scotch. Of course the original owner has been booted by his investor consortium(ungrateful bastards)Check that out and report back.
