Was following some of the A. Chavez threads that are going on and I wanted to weigh in. My ex-wife and I (both went to Texas) have a daughter that chose to attend and graduated from OU. I will admit to expecting the worst when I got on campus but it was actually a nice campus that was clean. It was different compared to the rest of the state as I am not a fan of the state of OK but the campus was nice.
Look, Austin isn't for everyone. I am not a fan of Austin myself and why I moved to Houston after growing up in Corpus Christi. Texas is almost twice as big as OU. Sometimes people like the smaller college town and smaller university while still getting the "college experience."
