I’m struggling to answer this as I look at our season. Our struggle to run the ball consistently is well established. Trying to figure out if that is failure to really COMMIT to the run; look at ASU in the Peach Bowl…we really bottled up Scattebo in the first half, but they kept pounding and 2nd half was a different story. Why can’t we assert ourselves against an undersized D line?
And the pass protection— how do we give up 3 sacks to a team ranked in the 100’s in pressures?
The level of competition goes up when we play the Cotton Bowl. Time to decide if we want to run the ball, or not. In any case, I have contended for some time QE seems better in a NHHU offense, not giving the D time to adj/sub. Maybe we’ll have to try to win a track meet against the Buckeyes. I think the O line will be THE determining factor if we beat OSU
