NORMAN — OU defensive lineman Damonic Williams said Monday he hasn’t made up his mind whether or not he’ll return to the Sooners next season.
“Not just yet,” Williams said after Monday’s practice. “But me, Coach (Todd) Bates, Coach V (Brent Venables) have been talking about it. A lot of sit-down conversations on the phone with my family.”
Williams said he would decide by next week whether or not he would return, but that he planned to play in the Dec. 27 Armed Forces Bowl against Navy “as of right now.”
Williams has 34 tackles, 4.5 for loss, one sack, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble this season. He’s started all 12 games this season at nose guard.
Williams transferred from TCU, where he started 27 games over the previous two seasons.
