Interesting read. Apparently this PE group wants to infuse cash to 10-15 teams negatively impacted by conference realignment and the new revenue sharing model with athletes. Some desperate programs are going to be on the hook in order to stay competitive.
It’s also not surprising this move is being spearheaded by a FSU alum (also former player for the Noles). Programs like the Noles may certainly benefit from these loans, but others such as say Oklahoma St, may not (in the long run) and then are left in the pockets of investors.
