ONE WIN.

The Texas Longhorns have gotten everything they have needed from their players this weekend so far. Timely hitting, outstanding defense and big time performances from the pitching staff has the Horns needing just one win out of two to advance to the Super Regionals and keep their season alive. Will it be easy? No. The Miami Hurricanes are a very dangerous team that can really hit the ball and play an excellent brand of defense. In addition, the Canes bullpen is mostly intact due to back to back outstanding performances against Texas last night in the 4-1 loss and in today's elimination game 8-5 win over Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. The good news is that the Longhorns bullpen is also intact and Coach Pierce will have everyone available today with the exception of Lucas Gordon and Lebarron Johnson Jr of course.

The recipe for success for the Horns will be identical to what it has been this weekend. They need to get an early lead, go deep into counts and really work the Miami staff. On the pitching front, Tanner Witt needs to locate his fastball/breaking ball combo and trust his defense. The other intangible to the game is if the Horns are going to give up a bomb to Yoyo Morales, they need to ensure it is a solo and work to prevent big crooked numbers.
