I think a path to early playing time is an underestimated aspect of recruiting.
It can be the number one reason we don’t get a recruit.
If the roster is stacked at your position, and it’s going to take a year or two before the current starter moves onto the nfl… that can be a deal killer.
It’s possible nobody did anything wrong, we just recruited nfl depth in previous years.
Roster construction has to allow for this, and adapt accordingly.
Of course I understand that nil, relationships, development, academics, culture, location, championship talent all matter.
Sometimes it’s unfortunate timing when having older super blue players will cause us to miss on super blue recruits.
