The reaction from progressives over the last ~20 or so hours has been high entertainment. It is rife with revisionist history and flat out lies. Manchin never committed to supporting the BBB and Manchin started voicing his objections to the framework early last summer. Now we have the amateur progressives in the House making demands that show they still have a lot to learn. The "Squad", who have an incredible amount of influence over Schumer who fears an AOC primary, are demanding the Senate vote. Bernie has joined their chorus.

One has to wonder, what is is that they think this would achieve? It seems folly driven by anger. Amateurs in all walks of life tend to go too far with their words when angry only to later regret the passion and the errors in their words. In this case, forcing the Senate to vote would be an extreme misfire. Numerous Democrats in the Senate would be loathe to vote yes on this bill. The majority leader would be doing the opposite of "playing a long game" something McConnell is famous for, but instead be capitulating to the wants of the irrational "newbies" in the House.

If the Senate votes tomorrow, an educated oddsmaker would put the over/under of YES votes at about 45. Numerous Senators would abstain or vote No if they are certain the bill is going to fail. It has been since 2010 that Nancy Pelosi last forced her caucus to vote on a controversial bill that didn't then pass the Senate. She has repeatedly promised her caucus that it wouldn't happen again as it cost them seats. Now, she too, caved to the pressure from the left and has put many of her members in the uncomfortable position of having to explain to their constituents that they supported a bill that was too radical to pass a Democrat controlled Congress.

The Squad have a lot to learn, and it seems they are still content to learn by slamming against walls of rock.
