Property Management-Tenant Question Austin Apt

Haven't rented apartment since early 90's but we have kid who just moved out of place here in Austin.

1. They let him stay one more week (from end of lease) and charged him for full month, they charged for full month and took two weeks for idiots to finally credit it back.

2. We made him clean apt for two full days and turned in keys and asked one of people in leasing office if needed walk thru or anything and she told him just hand in keys and we're fine.

3. They kept deposit and sent us a 1,200$ bill for full carpet repair as they claimed there was spot on carpet. We asked to go thru it with him and he said since already rented out to next tenant they had to do it quickly and he didn't hear from staff member we requested walk thru. They have one sketchy pic of some slight discolored spot and they replaced entire apt carpet.

4. Manager is never there and takes weeks to get back to us and claims he was going to talk to repair company and "try to help us out" and "get it reduced" and 2 weeks go by and he just re sends us bill after we call twice and show up there twice and he refuses to talk to us.

Just wondering if any recourse or should just pay it and let it go since not huge amount? Seems like they just charge you and then send to collections after 30 days . Looking at yelp-reddit-Better Business bureau seems like this place does this to lots people.
