About a year ago I coopted a kid bragging thread started by @RLong68 (I hope your boy is still dropping dimes) to mention my daughter in her first year of competitive dance. Well, she's in year 2 and just performed her first solo in the first competition this year, and she nailed it. She took home 1st place of about 40 kids dancing solos and got her first scholarship. Not $$ but a comped visit to a dance convention in the fall (but older kids at her studio have gotten $50k scholarships, so I'm counting on that in the future). She's a hard worker, loves dance, and it just so happens she has a natural talent for it.

Her younger sister was in 2 group dances and they got 4th and 5th place out of probably 20 dances in those groups. This is her first year competing so she's off to a solid start too.

I've had some success in sports, band, and career but watching your kids kick ass in their passion is something else. I was fvcking nervous while they were announcing the results. She got a platinum rating earlier so I knew she was going to be at least top 10. And then they announced 10, 9, 8...my heart pumping more each time until she was the last name called. I jumped up like the Horns just scored a game-clinching touchdown.

I know dance is probably not the highlight of most OBer's personal lives (and I tried to get my kids into a ball sport to no avail) but I'm happy! Hope you other degenerate parents are experiencing something similar!
