That's not correct. The energy costs are passed along to the consumer.No. Their rates are fixed, set by a regulatory agency. We all will pay down the road with slightly higher rates. But you are not exposed to spot market prices. (Assuming this is residential)
probably 45 mins or so. buckle down cause it could last through today and tuesdayYeah our power is out too. With 2 young kids not I’m not overly excited. Shit needs to come back on soon
There’s always one.
The morons that are keeping their thermostats at 77 are not helping with these power outages. Probably 55 in my house right now with the power out and dropping. Stop being idiots please, there’s a reason they ask us to do this.
Exactly. Anything higher is suffocating. That sounds miserably hot. Heat should never ever be set above 70.
nothing makes senseCan someone help me with the math here? How is everyone more off than on? The excess demand can’t be that high, right? I totally get the need but how is it not off 10-20% of the time?
every breaker in our system is handling more amps than rated, so even with rolling outs the other circuits are still overloaded. slowly but surely tryin to regain powerCan someone help me with the math here? How is everyone more off than on? The excess demand can’t be that high, right? I totally get the need but how is it not off 10-20% of the time?
Same here in SW Austin. Went out around 1:56 and still not on.My entire neighborhood has been out since 2 am. Not good for us right now.
Power has been out since 1:30 ish, this was my first thoughtFirst thing I did when the electricity came back on was to make my coffee.
First world problems.
Yup, 2 little ones here too. Power out since 2:30. I got the fireplace going again and we are hanging out in front of it having a good time.Yeah our power is out too. With 2 young kids not I’m not overly excited. Shit needs to come back on soon
The blackouts are not supposed to last that long. I would call your provider. Our power in Frisco has been off for over 4 hours. Starting to worry how much longer it will be off.
that was my first thought as well. My heater is usually set at 66, sometimes we will do the upstairs to 68 but that is as high as it goes. I guess I also just assumed most didn't use electric to heat. That sounds miserably hot. Heat should never ever be set above 70.
