I began by having a tingling feeling on the left side of my neck and my left shoulder over the last 12-18 months. That has now turned into numbness in the same areas. There isn't any real pain associated with the numbness and the numbness goes away when I have my neck completely vertical, so leaning over to type, read, etc. causes the numbness. I went to my primary care doc at Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler (I Iive at Eagles Bluff CC on Lake Palestine) and he X-rayed my neck (XR CERVICAL SPINE 2 OR 3 VW) and the radiologist report came back with "Cervical spondylosis as noted above with severe disc degenerative narrowing C6-7 and diffuse facet and uncovertebral arthrosis". Looking for recommendations for a very good neurosurgeon who likes to operate only as a last resort to evaluate the condition and recommend a course of action. My 1st cousins' first cousin is Dr. John Stokes from Austin. I'll be 67 next month and would play golf 8 days a week if God hadn't stopped at 7!

Also if any of the Orangebloods group has had a similar issue I'd like to hear about your successes or failures in treating your neck issues and any recommendations you might have based on your experiences.

Thanks for any info or recommendations.

Here's the report from the doc who read the X rays:
