President Trump called for impeaching a federal judge who issued a temporary order against an administration deportation plan, drawing a rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts for violating American legal practice dating from the founding.

“For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision,” Roberts said in a statement. “The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose.”

The back-and-forth between the heads of two branches of government escalated the constitutional tensions provoked by the Trump administration’s aggressive moves to exercise executive power, often in the face of federal law or longstanding practice to the contrary.


We may disagree with the judges decision , but it’s ridiculous that Trump is calling for an impeachment just based on that and is really trying to consolidate power into his own hands

We have to respect the balance of power and constitutional authority. Cue the next round of “whataboutism” from our MAGA disciples
