Reasons why the Big XII sucks

SEC gets to pick their bowl games and they use that to have favorable matchups. Big12 was not favored in any of their bowl games. we let the bowls choose our teams. That's why Texas was selected by the Alamo Bowl. They had first choice of the bowl affiliates of the Big12. Oklahoma St was playing the Aggies with their second string QB. Given that I think they played well. It just wasn't the conferences best year.

In 2008 when we beat the Sooners 45-35 when they were ranked #1 and lost to TT 39-33 following a grinding schedule against some very good teams, we should have played for the NC against Florida and I believe strongly we would have won that game. If Colt does not go down on the fifth offensive play of the game, I think we beat Alabama which would have given us three National Championships 2005, 2008 and 2009. That would have altered our future success significantly. Mack clearly lost his edge after the Alabama loss due to Colt's injury. He never got the edge back thus we went through a decade of bad football. Winning cures almost all problems. We can win a NC as member of the Big 12 if we return to our winning ways, that will solve the recruiting problem and that and good coaching is what it takes. Alabama has proven that repeatedly. Some of the SEC bottom feeders are not all that good. Okie State almost beat the Aggies without their starting QB and best WR.
