The highlights for Simon were his conversations with the coaches. Great experience overall, he said. Said Tashard Choice told him really wants him in the UT program. This was Simon’s last spring visit. He said he’s going to sit down soon and try to come to a decision. If he can’t, he’ll take some OVs. He does have a Texas OV set for June 21 and it’s his only OV, so read into that what you will. Said Texas is a top option right now. Also high on A&M, Bama, Notre Dame and LSU.
Lacey said it was a good visit. He hadn’t seen a game atmosphere at UT since BYU last year, so it was good to see the environment today. Was impressed by the QBs, as you’d expect. Said he did some recruiting on OL Nick Brooks and hung out with the other Texas commits. Texas OV June 21 and that’s the only visit he’s planning on taking.
Came in on Thursday. Leaves tomorrow night. Got some time with the coaches and watched some film on how Texas uses the tight ends. Winston said he’s hoping Texas takes a two tight-end class. In fact, he’s working on guys like Kiotti Armstrong and Kaleb Edwards. OV to Texas in June. That’s the only one he’s taking, but he did say schools like UCF, Texas A&M and Bama are still trying to recruit him.
First visit to UT since Junior Day in January. Talked to Kyle Flood a bit and Flood will be by in the spring to see him. Was at A&M last week for the first time and said it was a good visit as well. Both of his sisters go to school in Austin (one is starting at UT in the summer) so he said it would good to be close to them. Said Texas is definitely one of the top schools on his list.
Said he was impressed with the receivers, including Johntay Cook and Ryan Wingo. Spent some time with Chris Jackson. Brought his mom up to interact with the coaches for the first time and she really liked it … said she’d definitely give her blessing if he picks Texas. The Texas coaches talked to him about committing whenever he’s ready but he wants to take his OVs. OVs set to Texas, USC, TCU and Texas Tech and he’s working on setting one up with A&M.
First visit to Texas. Said he liked it a lot. Was going to explore Austin tonight and head back tonight. Really liked the coaches and the facilities. Texas OV set for June 7. Also going to take an OV to UCLA in May and June OVs to Washington, Oregon and Alabama. Said UT’s history made him want to come give Texas a look this weekend. Took spring visits to Texas, Auburn, Alabama and Georgia.
Doesn’t have an offer yet but said Chris Jackson told him he’ll be evaluating him this spring. Really enjoyed the experience today. Said he really likes coach Jackson and they have a lot of really conversations. Texas, Notre Dame, A&M, Baylor are some schools that are standing out.
Said he liked the overall environment and the attention shown by the UT staff. Said he grew up a UT fan so an offer would be big for him. Really likes Texas and OU right now. North Texas offer.
Has visited UT three weekends in a row. No offer but Jeff Banks told him he’ll come by in the spring to evaluate him and decide on a possible offer. A UT offer would mean a lot, said he’s been wanting a Texas offer since he was little. Also likes Bama, OU and TCU. Those would be the top four, but Texas would be number one.
It’s early, but this one feels like it’ll go Texas’ way if the staff pushes. He said Texas is in his top three and couldn’t really name who else would be in there. Loves Tashard Choice and the atmosphere at the game today. May go to TCU next week.
