Just got into town, headed to the Crab Trap. Any OB's around? If so, head over and let's drink some tequila! I'm the guy with his head shaved and 5 kids running around him. It will be a good time.

Also, any restaurant recs in the area?

That's an amazing area, especially the golf, enjoy.

It's not what we are used to in the ATX but the scene was hopping when my driver/wife just drove us by

I live in the ATL so it's probably closer to what I'm used to. Even though it's been there for years, we recently discovered Sal's pizza. Like it a lot. Also like the main restaurant on Sea Island. Have friends headed down Tuesday. Jealous!

Awesome place. Great golf. My favorite vacation spot is the Cloisters.

Building a huge addition right now, told me it was to accomodate more bingo since that room only holds 550!

Bumping an old thread..but will be heading down there next Tuesday.

I'm coming from a business trip around 7pm and the rest of my group won't be in until 1am...any suggestions or spots to post up to grab some drinks and dinner?

it's been too many years for me to make any recommendations, but i will always remember it as one of my favorite domestic vacation spots to take the entire family

Used to live in Atlanta. The Georgia coast is said to be a great place for a getaway (or live). Unfortunately, never made it over. Lots of Georgia residents also love Gulf Shores and the Florida panhandle beaches as well.

For you history buffs, Sea Island hosted the G8 summit in 2004.

One of our owners has a house there. He goes down there 3-4 times a year, as does our other owner.

Appreciate the bumps...someone has to have a few ideas in mind.

Staying in Sea Island, but figured St Simons would be a better spot to casually hang, grab some beers / dinner and shoot the shit with some locals.

I'm there right now. Southern Tide at the beach club has outdoor seating, you could get a table outside to eat dinner in the back with ocean views or along the side by the pool is the bar area. There are also multiple bars at the Cloister. You could go to St Simons, but everything is so close on Sea Island I'd just stick around there. Where are you staying on the island?

Awesome, thanks for the info.

Staying in (at?) Ocean Forest from next Tuesday through Sunday. My good friend's fiance has a house down there, which is why I clearly don't know much about the area. I'm coming from NYC and the rest of the group is about 3-4 hours behind, so sounds like I'll do exactly what you mentioned above to kill some time.

How long are you there for?

Unfortunately leaving tomorrow. Ocean Forest probably has a good bar too, I just haven’t been down there only the cloister/beach club area since we’re staying by the beach club

Got it. Thanks again for the info, and enjoy your last day!

Not looking forward to the southern heat, although NYC is pretty damn hot and gross this week anyways...so will be nice to get out.

Owners? Is the dog in the avatar posting?
No, sad to say the dog in the avatar had to be put to sleep last week. But he couldn't find his way back to the house if he went one house next door, so I doubt if he could post on Orangebloods.

Yes, I work for two investors and one of them has a house at Sea Island, GA.

I know Southern Soul BBQ is very popular with the many PGA players who live in the area. We enjoyed it during our visit 2 yrs ago.

Book Bingo at The Cloisters with the kids, it’s good family fun. Call ahead for reservations, no jeans and a blazer required I seem to remember.

I believe you have to be with a member or be sponsored by a member to use the Ocean Forest Facilities. That is one of my favorite golf courses.

Are you staying ON Sea Island? If so, some great restaurants onsite at the Beach Club and Cloisters. They just revamped the Sea Island Lodge (golf course near the airport). They have food there now too. You can see the bagpiper and drink while watching the sunset.

Crab Trap, Gnats Landing, Crabdaddys are all popular. Brogans is good. Sals is legit for pizza.

Correct. The members I am staying with have called ahead to make sure I can get into the area. Appreciate the heads up though.

Awesome thank for the recs.

I'm staying on Sea Island at Ocean Forest. My plan was to drop bags off at the place, then head out to the Cloisters bar/restaurant. Appreciate the other recs, I will look into them.

Just booked a trip for my family to Sea Island, Georgia. Would appreciate some recommendations for interesting activities and dining in the area. Always appreciate the help of our Orangebloods family!

Sorry for not posting the obligatory pics. Not sure how to post the pics of my hot wife from Nam!

If you are staying at the Cloister it is hard to go wrong. The restaurants on site are all terrific. Plenty of activities for kids also. Golf is great.

The restaurants at The Cloisters and The Lodge are great. There is also a great seafood place called Halyards just off property. Also some great places in St Simons. Sea Island has pretty much any activity you would want golf, shooting, fishing, kids stuff, cycling.......,
