Boy fb was a really mean game back then. You could do things that you can't do now. In the second quarter we lost our top 2 qbs for the season. There was more than a few limp offs in that game. A guy named Randy McEachern stepped in at qb. No worries not when we had Earl Campbell. He gained over a 100 yards and scored the games only td. With less than 2 minutes to go OK had a 4th and 2 on the TX 6 yard line. But Johnny Johnson, Colin, and Kirk's daddy, stopped him short and the Longhorns ran out the clock. We had gone 0/5/1 the last 6 years against OK but that streak was stopped that day and the hated Barry Switzer was finally beaten.

Final score
TX 13
OK 6
ps... That was the year Earl won the Heisman.
