While Harry Reid is no hero of mine, the filibuster for things such as executive branch and judicial appointments had to go if our government was going to function. If it is removed from the legislative process in general, given the polarization we have and the two party system, this could be very bad. A lot more laws will be passed and then repealed, forcing businesses, state and local governments, and the people into a lot of difficult positions. To the democrats on the board, I encourage you to influence your leaders not to remove this safeguard requiring more consensus than the smallest majority to pass laws. Same to Republicans, I know Trump has hinted he wants to get rid of it. The US Senate has kept us from a lot of trouble over the years. There is a saying I like for my field "don't just do something, stand there." More often than not waiting and reconsidering are worthwhile in what I do. The Senate has provided that for us as a people.
