Revive Rivalry With Texas A&M

Yes reality. Playing a good Southland conference team could only hurt us too.

Actually our rivalry with AR is even more lopsided than the a&m rivalry. It's almost a 3 to 1 advantage in Texas favor. If you go back and see the history of the TX/AR game you'll see that TX always won it mattered. And one last thing if there's one team that a&m has pushed around since they've joined the SEC it's AR.
I do miss the old SWC games between UT and Arky. Those were some great games to watch.

Fvcking hell man! Go sooner wax nostalgic on a sooner board bro. Nobody wants to play the sheep shearers anymore. Drop it. Never again. If you're girl cheats on you, you kick her to the curb and you go get a newer, hotter, naughtier girl.

Discussion ended period.

Ok, but tell us how do you really feel about it :)

Rather than casual fan vs. die hard, I'd say forgiving vs. vengeful.

Clob is making my point. For some Horns, it's a personal thing and they'll never forgive the Aggies. Just like some Aggies will go to their graves with a hatred for Deloss Dodds, I'm sure.

The students clearly want it. Recruits would get another look, showcasing these two programs. College football fans outside our state want it. The networks and advertisers probably want it to return. If that's true, it's a matter of time... But that Thanksgiving slot, will we get that back?

We'll never see college fb on Thanksgiving again. The NFL has sewn up all the time slots morning, afternoon, and evening. College fb wouldn't have a chance going head to head. It makes me angry but the NFL is the most popular sport in America it is what it is.

Yeah, I really meant Thanksgiving weekend.

If that game comes back, it'd be played early in the season, not T+1.

The 69 game @arky, gas stations wouldn't sell to cars with Texas plates. You had to gas up in Texarkana before entering the wilderness. Darrell said afterwards, "After the game, we get to go home."

tradition is leaving college football too fast. all the hurt manginas on both sides needs to go away. this game should be played every year, on thanksgiving. end of discussion.

I do think this game would be good for the sport. Whether the residual hurt feelings are still too much to overcome remains to be seen.

What I find funny though are the aggys talking about how it may hurt their schedule or whatever. They're not going to win anything of consequence ever anyway so why not play the game. The fans want it so quit being scared, agroids. I mean, you started up your rivalry game with LSU again and that's going well for you... oh wait lulz.

Pretty much agree with everything you say.

We have enough marquee games. I think it will happen eventually though. It would bring a lot of money and interest.

It's not just the Texas v. TAMU rivalry game. College football really needs the OU-Nebraska game back, too.

The Big 12 damaged that rivalry by putting Nebraska and OU in distinct divisions, and not allowing them to play annually. What a shame that it ever happened.

We're not just talking about those programs being damaged. It's how well CFB competes against the NFL, etc.
