If you missed it yesterday, Rivals released its updated Rivals250 for the 2025 class.
Some things of note:
*New Texas quarterback commit KJ Lacey is the highest rated player on the list that isn't a five-star. He went from No.53 to No.11 in this update. It might take a few months, but it goes without saying that he's in the territory of players that will earn eventual 5-star rankings.
* North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez (No.6) and Duncanville wide receiver Dakorien Moore (No.9) are both ranked as 5 stars.
* The Rivals Top 10 in the state of Texas with my LSR rankings in parenthesis.
1. Sanchez (2)
2. Moore (1)
3. Mesquite Horn OT Lamont Rogers (3)
4. Gal Ball defensive back Jonah Williams (7)
5. Katy Jordan WR Andrew March (4)
6. Bellville DT DJ Sanders (10)
7. Lewisville OT Michael Fasusi (5)
8. Katy Paetow CB Deyjhon Pettaway (9)
9. Pflugerville Weiss WR Adrian Wilson (19)
10. Port Arthur DE Michael Riles (6)
That's nine of the same top 10. The only guy from my top 10 that Rivals doesn't have in its Top 10 is Gal Ball edge Malcolm Simpson, who Rivals has ranked No.60 in the country and No.11 in the state.
I've never felt so heard before.
* Overall, 48 of the national top 250 are kids from the state of Texas.
* Lacey's teammate WR Ryan Williams is a 5-star and ranked 4th in the nation.
