Here are the highlights of Texas junior quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s media availability on Tuesday:

--- Ehlinger on the performance of his offensive line against Louisiana Tech: “They did incredible. Incredible in the run and pass game. We all communicated really well. There were a few miscommunications that I'll take the blame for. But up front, they did a great job of doing exactly what they're coached to do.”

--- Ehlinger on the debut of guard Parker Braun: “It was incredible. We turn on the film, and you know, Keaontay [Ingram], or one of the guys would be 15 yards downfield, fighting for extra yards, and here you see Parker, he's running right there with him. He's hungry for contact. He loves the game of football, and he plays with that passion every single snap.”

--- When asked if LSU might have the best secondary he has seen, Ehlinger was unsure. However, Ehlinger said LSU has an incredibly talented backfield, and the program recruits well.

--- LSU outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson recently said Ehlinger uses his legs more than his arm. When asked what he thought after hearing Chaisson’s comment, Ehlinger said, “Completely irrelevant. I don’t really care about the outside noise. I'll say it again, just like all the other criticism, we're going to focus on the things that we can control and game plan for them, not specific comments.”

--- Ehlinger said he is extremely comfortable with receiver Brennan Eagles. They worked a lot during the offseason, and Ehlinger said when he threw extra passes on weekends, Eagles was always there. Ehlinger said he constantly quizzes Eagles on routes, and plays the quarterback might check into, and his receiver is committed to learning everything about the game.

--- Ehlinger believes Ingram’s athletic ability and mentality will help him thrive as the primary running back due to the number of injuries in that room.

--- Ehlinger said LSU moves players around on defense, and guys flip sides beyond the line of scrimmage. He said, “It's more like birds on offense opposed to individual guys and what they're traditionally playing. Understanding where they're at on a specific play as opposed to their position on the roster.”

--- When asked if he lives for games like this, Ehlinger said he loves them. However, he is compartmentalizing this week because he still has to attend class and practice before the game.

--- Ehlinger on sitting in the fourth quarter and watching backup quarterback Casey Thompson: “It was unique. It was nice because the past few years, we haven't been able to finish the second half when we should have. I thought Casey did a great job coming in and executing. He did everything the coaches asked him to do. He got his first blood of college football. Got his first touchdown. I was really happy for him. For him to go in and operate and lead a touchdown drive was really good to see.”
