I was gonna write about how I feel about as devastated as I did walking out of Cowboys stadium in 2001 after the Big12 CCG. In 2001, clearly that was on Simms, but it was all setup for us to play or the Natty if we won that game. As we all know, last night's game was clearly winnable, and I firmly believe we would beat ND.
With all that said, it was clear that it took several years for Mack to figure out what it took to win the Big games, and win it all. The same can be said for all the other coaches mentioned above (obviously I'm assuming Day wins it all in a few days)
And I know we were in the same position last year in the semis. But lets be honest with each other - UW kicked our butts for 90% of that game - we didn't deserve to win that game. If we would have won, we would have stole it.
Last night was a coaching failure - it is 100% on Sark and his coaches. Sark is great when we are around the 20-25 yard line going in. But for whatever reason, within the 5, its almost like there is just not enough room to operate his offense, and his playbook becomes paper thin.
My opinion is that Sark and PK cost us 21 points - the 7 right before half, the 7 OSU scored on the turnover, and the 7 we didn't score from the 1 yard line.
Sark is really good, but he's not ready to win it all. What I do know is what yoda says "the greatest teacher, failure is".
