He was 34-29 and landed the USC job off of this record. while a 53% winning percentage is nothing to write home about, comparing what he took over to Tom isn't exactly apples to apples.

before Sarkisian was hired at UW, they fired Tyrone Willingham who went 11-37(!!!) for a .229 winning percentage.

For context he had one more season than OB favorite Charlie strong (16-21, .434%) and still won 5 fewer games.

He took over a program slightly more successful than Kansas has been lately, Who was 0-12, went 5-7 in his first season and took them to 3 straight bowl games after.

even in his short stint at the blue blood USC, he landed the nations #2 class in his first full recruiting cycle.

His chops as a football coach should have only gotten better from Being around some pretty good coaches.

Major difference is Sark has coached at 2 power 5 schools including a big time job. He’s also been under the GOAT coach for 3 years. He needs to make some good staff hires and I think he could be very successful. I don’t think it’s the Hail Mary some make this hire. Bring in mike stoops and I immediately would be A lot more cynical.

TLDR; record isn’t fantastic, doesn’t tell whole story. UW turnaround was very good and Has shown recruiting success
