I'm not sure there's a ton to pass along, but I don't want anyone to think we're all just eating Thanksgiving leftovers and flipping out over Premier League soccer results.

A few things to pass along as we continue to reside in the collecting information stage of things:

a. It's super quiet within the administration levels. I kicked the tires in a couple of places last night and mum was the word for the most part. In fact (without getting into specific details), I personally perceived some of the coyness in the immediate aftermath to be somewhat telling about where things are headed.

b. The non-administration/heavy hitter types have been far less coy. They believe that change is a matter of when and not if. Yesterday's result was met with anger behind the scenes with the dudes that write big checks and that anger just combined with pre-existing anger to create an even higher level of anger. Considering a number of these folks are supposed to cut checks in the next three weeks for the SEZ project, don't underestimate the leveraging of those checks being mailed in against the desire to rid themselves of a big source of their current anger. This particular cloud has lingered for months and a lot of folks that are committed to sending checks simply have not sent them in yet. The cloud didn't go away this weekend.

c. The stone cold silence from Chris Del Conte is a big sign in the estimation of a lot of voices behind the scenes. A man that loves Tweeting and being interactive on social media didn't even share photos or words on the unveiling of the new statue dedication for Julius Whitier. He's being asked to go on the record by Orangebloods, other local media and national voices like Pete Thamel... and he is and has been declining the requests at a 100-percent rate for weeks.

d. I don't think anyone knows what's going to happen with Urban Meyer. When his name has been mentioned in the last week, there have been mixed signals from a variety of sourcing. Are people putting on poker faces? Very possibly. Yet, I haven't had anyone come close to telling me that Texas us absolutely getting Meyer.

e. If you were busy this morning, the Fox pre-game crew (with Urban Meyer on the set) didn't so much as say a single word about Texas and Herman's job situation. The feeling behind the scenes is that this wasn't by accident and that it is an indication of the seriousness that he's personally giving the possibility of the Texas job.

No one knows whether he'll ignore health concerns and return to college football, but his sudden silence on Herman and the Longhorns after being full of thoughts on the subject for much of the season was seen as a very positive sign by two sources I communicated with today.

f. One last thing. while everyone is obviously dialed in on Meyer, a little birdie tells @Anwar Richardson that a name to file away is Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal, a nugget he'll have in tomorrow's Sunday Pulpit. That's not to suggest that Cristobal should be considered a favorite (complete with a blinking neon sign), we're just passing along that his name was mentioned as a possible person of interest.
