Having gone to both games there were definitely stark differences with the pre-game and atmosphere. Mercedes Benz Stadium is impressive with great sight lines. For SECCG we had game day and SEC game day there so the fan fest was huge for the 4 hours before kick-off! The space across from the stadium was huge with tons of give-aways and energy. Massive GA crowd so stadium was pretty loud on their side throughout. For the peach bowl, the pre-game fan fest was literally 1/5 the size of the SECCG--pretty lame in comparison. The beginning of the Peach Bowl was the quietest I've ever witnessed a stadium. ASU finally got loud in the 4th quarter and outnumbered TX fans probably 2:1.
Every non-UT fan texted me last night saying how incredible that was to watch...for the non-vested fan it was an instant classic. For a longhorn it was pretty frustrating but I'll take the W and move on.
