Binged it all to current in last week or so.
Thoughts
Enjoying the show. A little slow. I'm VERY weary of ~another~ show where the mystery and build up is far more entertaining than the reveal. Did the show writers have a definitive storyline with a concrete ending from the get go? Or will this be like Lost where its obvious they are making it up as they go along and this leads to disappointing end?
I'm very invested in learning what the F Lumon actually does. At this point, I just need to know.
Pretty good acting considering the premise.
I didn't buy Helly R outtie sleeping with Mark. Just don't buy someone of her status would do that. She could have kept the ruse going without going that far.
Also don't really buy into how the Season 2 innies are so obedient after Season 1 finale. I ~kind of~ understand why all the outties allowed themselves to go back in (Dylan couldn't get job, Mark wants to find out about wife) but the way the innies "fall in line" and seem to just be OK with going back to work and are like 90% less interested in finding out what's going on seems weird.
Also don't buy the cordial relationship with Milchik. Regardless of show's premise, once a boss/employee gets to the point of physical altercation, that relationship is likely toast and doesn't just return to baseline.
Lumon allowing Innies to meet their outties seems like a bad idea. I don't buy that Dylan's wife could go through that and return to baseline (maybe they wont and that is a plot point later?)
Once you find out that Lumon can activate you at ~any time~ wouldn't that be chrisis mode for your outtie and you'd be freaking the F out to get that chip out of your head?
Questions
Lumon, despite the show trying to show them as super devious, is there any chance they are ultimately good?
At the end of S1, all the outties blacked out for about 45 minutes. Wouldn't this be a HUGE cause for concern? All the outties seemed pretty chill about it.
What is the creative purpose behind all the old tech/cars? Tube TVs, old vehicles. I actually like "retro futuristic" as a style (If you've seen Alien Romulus, like that. Basically using what we thought was futuristic tech in the 70s to keep that same vibe) but not really sure what purpose it serves here?
Prob something that you just ahve to accept without tons of detail but...what skills/memories do innies retain? Helly knew Delaware and Irv knew how to drive. So is it just relationships that they wipe without removing core human functioning skills, like wiping your ass?
