Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy's car stolen in Kansas City by 'professional group of criminals'
Xavier Worthy's car was stolen from his apartment in Kansas City earlier this week, according to reports.
Worthy, who was selected by the Chiefs in the first round of last month's NFL Draft, would have been expecting a warmer welcome just over two weeks since he joined the back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
Yet according to the Kansas City Police Department, via TMZ Sports, the 21-year-old wide receiver saw his car stolen from the Two Light Apartment complex on Monday morning, having left it 'parked, secured and intact' hours earlier.
Pro Football Talk first reported on Thursday that those close to Worthy are convinced it was taken by 'a professional group of criminals who "knew exactly what they were doing."'
No one was injured as a result of the incident, nevertheless, while no arrests have so far been made.
Worthy, who recorded the fastest-ever 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine earlier this year, was selected with the 28th overall pick by the Chiefs at the Draft in April.
It is the latest setback Kansas City has been dealt in the offseason, following on from Rashee Rice's multiple run-ins with the law in recent months.
