Projected to play in a pretty friendly region as well. Obviously lots will change between now and March, but it’s fun to have a team with real expectations again.

you're a projected #1 seed.

I think it’s a little early. The next few games will tell us more about this team. They are good, but will they play down to competition and can they play at a high level consistently?

Enjoy the ride and good for Shaka. He was on very thin ice and is now having a season that could springboard the program. He can recruit and apparently develop individual players as he’s had several get drafted. Perhaps he is growing on the job. He’s got some athletes and talent on the roster and he deserves credit for that.

Sure it's early, but when was the last time Texas basketball was in the discussion for a number 1 seed.
Exactly. I’m just the messenger relaying Lunardi’s projections. Who knows how long this ride will last, let’s all just enjoy being good for now.

Absolutely, he is still growing on the job. I think every coach at every level constantly evolves and grows as a coach. It's also important to remember that Shaka was hired when he was 37 years old. That is incredibly young for a guy to be hired at a place like Texas in a conference like the Big 12... I would still like to see better offensive sets, but this team he has built this season is outstanding and he deserves all the credit for it. He has definitely shown a plus ability at recruiting and developing talent. Unfortunately, that hasn't come to fruition on the court as much, but I think that's going to change. We'll see though.

Well said

I tend to focus more on how the team is playing and the progression of the season more so than seeding in early January. However, if the tournament was today, I agree that they would be a 1 seed. I’ve been critical of Shaka in the past. However, he has the team playing really well and they look much improved. Hope things continue on this path.

The schedule against other ranked opponents can help us lock up a 1 seed or send us to an 11 seed. I'm a believer in our players but it is too early given so many ranked opponents left to play. Believe we will get a 1-4 seed.

I think 1-4 seed is accurate. Before the Kansas game I thought 4-6 but this team flexed some muscle in that game so outside of an epic collapse I don’t see us falling below a 4 seed.

still 11 more games vs. top 50 Kenpom teams upcoming. And that doesn't include road trip to Kentucky.

Way too early but quite the oddity to see our name as a #1 seed. All to be played in Indy, correct?

If we continue to shoot threes like we did in Lawrence, we could win the whole dang thing

Good chemistry this group plays as a true team
