Really enjoyed it.

I can't stand woke, forced political narratives, forced lgbtq stuff, or whatever else in films. While there will be some people who insist that is the case with Sinners, the actual set and setting of the film invalidates that. This is 1932 Mississippi. Most stories for that time period and that region are just going to have race elements that are ~probably not favorable~ for white people.

Coogler definitely takes inspiration from "From Dusk Till Dawn" here but its his own twist. The character development and world building was awesome. The music was awesome. I just saw it on a regular screen but I bet IMAX would be really great.

The music scene with the roof on fire was mesmerizing. I think that particular scene will be one that gets discussed and brought up a lot for a long time.

My critiques are mostly isolated to plot holes/inconsistencies like:

1) How tf did Smoke get from the top floor of the Juke Joint, passed 20+ vampires, into the water, and behind Remmick to save Sammie...all in like 5 seconds?
2) When Grace invited the vampires in, did we see them biting people that literally weren't in the building anymore? Or were there suppposed to be guests who were just hiding inside still?
3) Where did the Indians go? Why did they bail on their hunt for the vampire?
4) How did remmick survive outside in the sun to get to the house of his first victims?

Overall I always give a TON of credit to directors who risk their careers on original films. This one is just a lot of fun. Don't worry too much about deciphering all the "deeper meanings" or allegories or whatever, and just enjoy it.
