It's time for the annual $ooner apologist tour of how they deserve to (undeservingly) backdoor into the playoffs over teams that have better records and beat them head to head. Whatever the outcome this weekend, that will happen to be sure.

I still cannot believe the Baylor spread is 17. They have failed to cover 5 games in a row. The wives are tweeting this week that "we have one foot out the door." K.Briles is in Auburn midweek interviewing for the OC position. Grobe announces he's not coming back (pure comedy!). Who is coaching this team? We have a true freshman QB, going into a hostile environment, playing a team that undoubtedly will remember a TD pass with a minute to go last year, while leading by 24. Sorry kids, Daddy's putting the entire Xmas budget on the Mountaineers.

Theyre just as deserving as most 2 loss teams. Though i dont like that we may have to dip into 2 loss teams to fill out the 4 team field.

I'm waiting for the $ooner argument that you deserve to be there over a 1-loss tOSU squad that beat you H2H since they're not conference champs. You know it's coming.

Yep, and that's why conference championship don't mean as much this year as in the first 2 years. All the participants the first two years had 0 or 1 loss. Highly, unlikely that Florida somehow beats Alabama, VT beats Clemson (could happen), and Colorado beats Washington, (again, could very well happen) AND if the selection committee went strictly with conference champs like some dumba$$es want, we could see all 4 playoff teams with 2 OR MORE losses. Teams like Alabama, OSU, Clemson would be left out which is just stupidity at its best. I know I wouldn't be tuning in. Point: resume/schedule should factor in just as much as conference championships as the committee's job is to select the 4 BEST teams.

really...because the other conference champions will have played 13 games while OU or OSU has played 12. Tomorrow is a regular season game that happened to be scheduled on Championship Saturday to try to keep the big 12 relevant. The big 12 should not get in over any team that has played 13 games.

Just put 3 Big 10 teams in there with Bama and be done with it.

Jim Grobe must be wondering why did I leave North Carolina to take this job? What these Baylor asst coaches have treated their players this year is shameful.

Diadevic, I saw where Grant Teaff was at Clemson last month and just so happened to run into one of Clemson's oc's. I don't know anybody at Baylor who's an insider bet I'll bet you anything that they hire or at least make an offer to Brent Venables or one of Clemson's oc's to be the next coach at Baylor.

I can't blame Grobe for taking a payday - he was doing us a favor. But I guaranty you he underestimated the sh*tstorm he was walking into. Those assistants took a chance to begin clearing their names from this whole sordid affair and somehow made it worse. If I was on that staff I would start learning how to sell insurance, because I doubt many, if any, have a coaching future.

The only one I think who has a chance of landing on his own two feet is Cris Dishman. He had an NFL coaching job when he came to Baylor and I'm sure he'll get back. The NFL doesn't care about what happened in college. Besides he wasn't around when all this went down he came afterwards.

Baylor thought they could win 10+ games and compete for something. Otherwise they would have just canned everyone and avoided further embarrassment .

What would you think if Baylor went to Clemson and offered the job to one of their coordinators Brent Venables or Tony Elliot?

Well I'm late to respond, but OU has in fact gotten in over a team who have played 13 (12-1 and a conference champion) games so it can and does happen. Oh and ohio state just did the same thing this year. But I agree, the 13th game sure is helpful, and will be there for us next season. not that you as a tx fan get to enjoy because you can root on OU for a 3rd straight.

Nope, but Penn State should have gotten in over tOSU. Didn't win their Division or Conference Championship and lost to the Team that did.
