Snowed in

We have a light dusting maybe once a year. And by dusting I mean, the littlest of little snow.

The last time it snowed like this was Christmas eve into Christmas morning in 2004.

It took my brother and his wife 8 hours to get from New Braunfels to corpus. On any given day with traffic that's usually a 2 hour 30 minute drive.

I had to stay home to sweep the snow off the roof of the doublewide before it caved in. The snow combined with all of the tires I had on the roof to hold the roof down was just too much weight.

am I the only one not going to work today because I’m ‘snowed in’? I have to say it is nice to see snow in New Braunfels once a decade.

When I saw it on the news I called my dad back home in San Antonio this morning. He said the snow had already melted and he drove his car around town.

Speaking of snow in San Antonio who was there for the great snowstorm in January 1985? On January 12, 1985 it snowed 16 inches in San Antonio. It made national news.

Was anyone besides me there?

Heck yeah I was in New Braunfels at that time. It was fantastic.

And Texas is where I wanna move to get away from the snow. Tough to get my chair around on the snow up here. So much for that lol.

We want to go skiing during Christmas so we are looking at New Mexico or Colorado. Right now neither state has more than 25 in of snow on any of their trails and yet it' has snowed in Texas ;)

Lake tahoe.... Heavenly mountain. You'll thank me for it.
I have skied there before and loved it. I am looking into helo skiing at Jackson hole but I am going to bring that option up to the wife.

Jackson hole is a kick in the a$$ no doubt. But if you're going to go big and do a helo drop, may I make a suggestion?

Banff or Whistler heliskiing is sick. I mean, bring an extra pair of underwear sick. Make it down and then use that chub you get make your wife smile later.

Done whistler Heli...my most amazing ski trip ever. 7 days at whistler Blackcomb skiing both mountains was on the bucket list. Flew into Seattle drove up to vancouver and got a ticket on the way to whistler...nicest cop ever and he just waved me over so he could give me a $60 ticket . 7 days on the mountain and then drove over to Victoria island...2 days there and then ferry into Washington and back home. We did ski grouse mountain one year at Vancouver and talk about amazing. Night skiing was tough as it ices up but I think we were up there from 9am to 10 pm.
