Well for one it was a marine f35 so umm yeah...need a poster board and crayons to draw directions.

Seriously though, eastern Carolinas are about as swampy as Louisiana. I imagine the pilot nosed the aircraft towards the most uninhabited area he could see before pulling handles.

Sigh...I told them I'd bring it right back jeez...was just testing it out..

But seriously. The jet only has like 2 hours worth of fuel so it's definitely crashed in a lake or something. Ppl at work today are freaking out because the last thing we need is another systems issue.

When he ejected the plane was still in auto pilot. So it flew for a bit after he was out

Seriously? I don't know their SOP or emergency checklists for ejection but in my little brain if you're gonna ditch and have time to prep, you wouldn't leave it on autop.
Again, I don't know if the pilot had time or it was a split second decision but assuming he had a few....
1) put nose towards most unpopulated area possible like a lake/field/woods ect..
2) dump fuel to minimize the fireball & cut engine(s)
3)pucker up for a height shrinking rocket ride.
4) egress

Nope. From what we were told it kept on flying lol

"Have you guys seen Nelson? He was supposed to have that $2B plane back by now...stupid interns"

Check it out....

Many of you don't know this but.....we lost a nuclear bomb in North Carolina once before. Still have never recovered it.
In fact-- we have lost 6 of them total.

I heard about the 1 that was lost when a plane crashed outside of Shady J. Supposedly it sunk into one of the many Neuce river swamps and was "safer to leave than to find." Crazy
