NIL is still fairly new so I don’t think we’ve yet seen the impact of what happens when you have a player you recruited and paid big NIL money to turn out to be a bust. Those questions will likely start being answered this year and next as those first NIL classes will now be deeper into their careers.
So what will happen to highly rated recruits who are busts? Will they just stick around and continue to collect their big NIL money? Or will they enter the portal and give up big dollars for a chance to play somewhere?
This will be one of the more interesting aspects of the new world of CFB and I’m curious to see how it shakes out.
