Man, what a first half by the Longhorns. Making it look almost boring against a ranked opponent before 100,000 lunatics in full jihad mode.

Some highlights:

  • Quinn Ewers, despite a gimpy ankle, has run this offense in pretty masterful fashion. Several NFL-level throws have made a real difference.
  • The OL has provided tremendous protection against a DL that has been really good at pressuring passers this year.
  • Goosby has been a life saver at LT after Banks's injury. He stepped in and has made things look easy. Really impressive.
  • Arch Manning is just a beast. Next season is going to be absolutely lit.
  • Taaffe is just a phenomenal presence - he's done a great job shadowing Reed. Great game planning by the defensive coaching staff there.
  • Vernon Broughton is dominating in the middle.
  • The defense overall has been what has become its normal dominant self. A truly amazing squad unlike any we've seen since the Akers era.
  • Tre Wisner remains an invaluable presence on the offense. Nothing spectacular, but always hits the right hole and is a solid blocker in pass protection.
  • Gunnar Helm remains one of our most valuable players this season. The Ags really have no answer to him.
Overall, this game is shaping up a lot like our game with Michigan: Just a really fine, dominant performance against a solid opponent.

If our guys maintain focus and intensity for two more quarters, then it's off to Atlanta and a rematch with Georgia.

Can't wait.
