This is where it gets a little tiresome to be a fan of this team. People freaking out and screaming at the coach...gigantic failure, choke job, etc etc etc. How about a little perspective?

We were playing what had become the consensus favorite to win the national title. They destroyed two other playoff teams, including the #1 team, both by more 20 points and neither was even that close. They spent even more in NIL on their team than we did. We were playing without our best running back, and our two best receivers were well under 100%.

We fought them straight up in the half only to give up a soul-killing long TD just before halftime. This with a team that struggled in the third quarter all year. But they didn't quit. Fought back to tie. Then OSU scored again, and we drove the length of the field to the doorstep of the end zone for the tie. It just didn't work out. They made a couple of plays, and that was it. They were just a little bit better than we were.

Sometimes it's just like that. Some of yall act like it was Rice we were playing out there, and that if Sark had just pulled his head out of his ass we would have won easily. Ryan Day and Jim Knowles are paid great money too. So is Jack Sawyer. They were just a little better at the critical moment.

The team that beat us is a 10 point favorite to beat Notre Dame and win the title.

Am I disappointed? Of course I am. This one will leave a mark for a long damn time. But I can also appreciate where we are. We handled OU easily. We beat aggy at their place and got to shove the SEC SEC SEC into their aggravating faces. We made the semis when teams like Alabama and Georgia did not. And the game was in the balance at the 2 minute mark. It didn't work out. But now consider how much effing fun it was to be in the biggest game of the year, with what people believe are the two best programs in CFB. In a game that came down to the wire.

I was thinking as the 4th down play..."4th and 5, the national championship on the line right here". Yes, it was 4th and 8, but not that different. Sometimes those plays fall your way, and sometimes they don't. Appreciate Vince Young Scores all the more, and go back to work.

Or if you want, we can go back to 2014. You know, when Baylor, BYU, Kansas State, TCU, and Arkansas all beat us by at least 21 points.
