According to Jeremy Clark, of Horned Frog Blitz, Sonny Cumbie has withdrawn his name from consideration from the Texas job.
"I want to thank Charlie Strong and everyone at the University of Texas for the opportunity to be the Offensive Coordinator there," Cumbie told Clark. "It is a position that I have seriously considered and given much thought to. There are many factors that go into making decisions like this and after weighing them all, TCU is where my family and I want to stay."
Texas will now turn its attention to Tulsa co-offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert, who interviewed with Charlie Strong on Wednesday morning.
