We tailgate in the East Garage and a three asked to join us, which we quickly agreed to. After some drinks, one opined how the bare south end zone was such a “huge embarrassment”. I said that narrative was incredibly overrated as she continued to talk about what a HUGE advantage we could have if those who donated large funds for the seats, were told to suck it, as we give the seats to students who pay the yearly $200 all sports ticket plan.
No matter how stupid/genius that sentiment is, how much do you think the crowd makes a difference?
We won 31-7. If the crowd were 20% louder, what would the score have been? If the crowd were 20% more quiet, what would the score have been?
I liken it to wearing a lucky shirt, because I think that while the players enjoy a louder and bigger crowd, their play is dictated by talent and scheme, with the crowd playing into it very little.
