Nothing bothers me more than seeing college basketball “experts” pick straight 1 seeds in the Final 4 year after year. It happens every single March and outside of one single time in 2008 it’s never actually played out that way. In fact, only 5 times have even three 1 seeds made the Final 4.
It’s like these analysts feel their reputation will be damaged if they incorrectly pick a higher seed to make a run (and by higher seed I mean any team seeded above a 1 or 2 seed). The top seeds certainly seem to be the best teams in the field on paper this year, but it’s March Madness and chaos always reigns supreme.
