Sterlin is in

perhaps:D to the first part.

Scholz, even you have to admit Strong has brought UT down several notches?

I would like to know why Bedford seems to be getting a free pass when you and a few others were chastising Stoops for keeping Mike around.

I don't think Bedford is getting a free pass, he's just not being executed. There is no doubt that he is on notice, or at least he better be.

Another lie from you. If he doesn't improve the D next year, he's gone. That's pretty clear to anyone who can read.

Another lie from you. Try to keep up with who says what. Or what, any criticism about OU is by me in your little brain?

Well I am just assuming since Strong is cleaning house on your 94th ranked offense it is only fitting he will be cleaning house on your 104th ranked defense right?
nah, they'll be older and wiser in 2016... They only faced the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 17th, 25th and 28th most prolific offenses of 2015.

From what I've heard about Sterlin, especially on this board, I'm a bit excited to see what he can do, but also skeptical. He seems to be on the rise and could very well be a great hire and really get us back on track, but he's not exactly a big name coming from a big school. I mean, the dude doesn't even have a wiki page. But even coaching legends had to start low, so who knows.

I do agree somewhat with belldozer, that Texas isn't the destination that it was 10 years ago, and especially not with looming stability concerns. But I can't help but think we could do better. Hopefully Strong and the staff (that are worth keeping) see something that I don't, which is highly likely.

24/7 saying Coach Gilbert will not be bringing in Tulsa OL coach Matt Mattox as previously expected.

He will bring in Arizona State OL coach Chris Thomsen or Temple High School head coach Mike Spradlin.

Spradlin worked under Briles at Houston and Gilbert used to be Spradlin's OC at Abilene Cooper.

Not a red flag from a guy with 4 posts at all. Nope.

Well I know how yall can be with <500 post accounts, so I'm trying to keep my head low and give level headed input. So I don't think what I said is any kind of red flag. I think we still have a brand that people want to join and want to see get back to prominence. I imagine the offer to a coach to be a big player in that return carries some weight, especially to a coach with that kind of mentality.

I think I saw some people saying it here, but I also prefer Gilbert's balanced run/pass approach than a pass-heavy one, e.g. Cal. Either way, hopefully this thing is signed and sealed and recruiting can pick up.

Tulsa OC Sterlin Gilbert has turned down #Texas OC job offer

This is also what happens when you have a well intentioned but amateur, part-time Athletic Director. You realize.. not just any ole lawyer will do.

There is a lot going on in the background that nobody is talking about. I don't think Strong has full support.

shaunking alluded to it this morning.

If the administration kept strong because they felt he wasn't given a fair shake... They aren't making the job easier.

This is embarrassing. It's like they are setting him up for failure? Maybe that's their plan. Who knows.

Promote Traylor.

Wow. Embarrassing indeed. I don't see any way that Strong isn't fired after next season. Realistically, Texas isn't going to win 8 games next year and if he doesn't do that, he'll be fired. What good OC is going to want to get into a situation to where they will probably only be around for one season? This is a tough spot for Texas whether they fire Strong now or keep him through next season and fire him then. The bottom line is his hiring hasn't gone well and at some point UT is going to cut ties with him. We need a dynamic HC and those don't grow on trees. It is very frustrating to be a Texas fan these days. :(

This will not sit well with what recruits we still have comitted and those we are going after.

The sports world is laughing.

This situation shows how important it is to get the Coordinator hires right at the get-go. Everyone knows strong is likely gone next year. He waited too long to reboot the offense.

We didn't whiff. Were deliberately sabotaging it. You're still a liar.
That's a lie. Just because the perspective OC's are demanding guarantees and hazard pay that your administration is correctly rejecting does not constitute the sabotaging Strong. Good grief do you ever admit what the deal is here?

This administration clearly doesn't have long term plans for Strong, so unfortunately for him hiring his 3rd OC is going to be rather tough.
