It wasn't that Bam Bam was this incredible God of an athlete or the biggest or strongest or fastest guy out there on the field. He wasn't.
He was just the toughest and meanest guy out there. I don't know that the dude ever got injured. He did his job. His job was to keep guards off of (arguably) the 2nd best linebacking corps in the NFL at the time. (The Giants had the best)
And that's what he did. Meticulously. You think Singletary is a 1st ballot guy without Steve, Hampton, Perry and Dent?

He only missed like 15 games in 13 seasons. Pretty incredible. Pretty amazing that he had 95 career sacks as an interior guy in a mostly run heavy league at the time.

Steve was taken to the hospital yesterday for suspected case of pneumonia. Hopefully recovers but not looking good for this tough SOB.

I'm glad Steve has lived long enough to know he was inducted.
