While I agree, there are rules people must follow for most professional jobs (at least now).

I know his career may not reflect it with the way it played out but I am not sure he shouldn’t be in the discussion for best Rb. Over 10000 with a career that was stopped a couple times and still retired while averaging over 4 yards a carry. Basically missed 3 complete seasons in his prime plus maybe two more cut short with injuries.

He ought to at least be on the NFL HOF.
But, I am afraid that is not too likely.
To a lot of voters, he is just the guy who “quit”.
