So you don't think he could've handled the interview better? Honestly I like Cam as a player so I'm not hating. I just think the interview went south before he even heard Harris. He came in with a pouting face. I'm not saying he should be happy about losing but he needs to learn this is his job and it's gonna happen. He's the face of that organization and leader of the team. He may get back to the superbowl but who knows. if they win I bet he's dabbing all in the interview. Oh well it was hopefully a learning experience for him.
ANYTHING that has been handled can be handled better. Denver could have held Carolina scoreless. Big Brother Manning, if he could have planted his left foot, could have thrown for 300+ yards and two more TDs.
Mr McCoy tells the story of Colt ( his Jim Ned High QB) and the State playoff game they lost. It was time to fire up the bus and take the sad ride home. No Colt on the bus. He got off the bus and went back to the Locker Room they had dressed in and finally out on the darkened field they had played on. Colt was still out there, still dressed in his uniform as he had never left.
Coach said he told his boy that sometimes, everybody loses. But he said Colt replied
"But... this is MY FIRST LOSS."
One of my very best historic heroes, Lt General George Smith Patton Jr, USA said it best in one of his speeches to Troops about to be committed to battle... " I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost AND THEN LAUGHED."
I'd bet you Cam Newton comes out next year still clowning... but, underneath, his jaws will be tighter. Not as tight as at his interview Sunday - but tighter...
