The problem that I have with many of Trumps touted ‘wins’ is they lack substance beneath the service. Much was made of how he showed Colombia who is boss. In reality, the disagreement wasn’t about whether they would take deportees but how they would take deportees. Biden deported via commercial aircraft. Trump wanted to deport via military aircraft. Colombia wanted to receive them via commercial. The ‘win’ was that he got Colombia to back down and agree to military aircraft. Lo and behold, the Trump administration has paused doing with these military aircraft because it is more expensive.
